			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As I have mentioned in previous posts, mixing palatable drinks is not the only skill required to become a good Vegas bartender. Knowing some good steps of service and executing them accordingly will help you provide a pleasurable experience for your guests during their visit to your bar in Las Vegas.</p>
<p>1. Greet your guest by welcoming them to your venue, introducing yourself and ask them if they&#8217;ve ever been to your bar before. Ex. &#8220;Welcome to the Venetian my name is (your name), have you ever been to (you venue) before?&#8221;</p>
<p>2. Offer them your specialty cocktail menu or suggest a few of your most popular concoctions. The sale is in the detail! Always be up selling and smile.</p>
<p>3. After you make their drinks and present them, try to quickly build a rapport with your new guests by finding out a little bit about them. You can ask them the reason for there visit &#8211; Business or Pleasure? What they&#8217;ve got planned on there trip to Vegas &#8211; Shows? Dinner Plans? Night Clubs? These types of questions should help you break the ice with your guests and help you learn a bit about who they are.</p>
<p>Why is this important?</p>
<p>Vegas can be intimidating and most people who come to visit don&#8217;t know anyone in town. By building a quick rapport or friendship with your guest &#8211; you increases the chance that they&#8217;ll return again on the same visit or even the next time they&#8217;re in town bringing in more business to you and you&#8217;re venue.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fernet (Italian pronunciation: [fɛrˈnɛt]) is a type of amaro, a bitter, aromatic spirit. Fernet is made from a number of herbs and spices which vary according to the brand, but usually include myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, aloe, and especially saffron,[1] with a base of grape distilled spirits, and coloured with caramel colouring. Ingredients rumored to be in fernet include codeine, mushrooms, fermented beets, coca leaf, gentian, rhubarb, wormwood, zedoary, cinchona, bay leaves, absinthe, orange peel, calumba, echinacea, quinine, ginseng, St. John&#8217;s wort, sage, and peppermint oil.</p>

<p>Fernet is usually served as a digestif after a meal but may also be served with coffee and espresso or mixed into coffee and espresso drinks. In Argentina it is commonly mixed with Coca Cola. It typically contains 45% alcohol by volume. It may be served at room temperature or on the rocks (with ice). A mint-flavoured version of fernet is also available.</p>
<p>Because of its list of ingredients, a number of home remedies call for fernet, including for the treatment of menstrual and gastrointestinal discomfort, hangovers, baby colic, and (formerly) cholera.</p>
<p>Its smell has been described as &#8220;like black licorice-flavored Listerine.&#8221;</p>

<p>Last year we had covered the Dalmore whiskey tasting session, which was about the experience of tasting the brand finest and rarest offerings. Such as event goes on to prove that fine whiskey tasting does indeed have takers, and that the coveted beverage is now becoming an investment tool. With high returns on rare blends in the market, the demand and the prices are going up by steep margins, thus making whisky collectors the new age investor gurus, and tasting sessions have indeed become rather sought after. Atlanta based real estate boss, Mahesh Patel is one such entrepreneur whose creations Ultimate whiskey Experience is the talk of the town in Las Vegas. The annual event, stated to be held over March 2-3 this year, will be a true connoisseurs delight, as some of the rarest and finest whiskeys will be offer for an elaborate tasting session.</p>

What is being stated as the ‘Rolls Royce of tasting sessions’, The Ultimate Whisky Experience (also called the Nth 2012) will be a platform for those who have developed, and are looking to further enhance their understanding of rare whiskeys along with novice counterparts. With a whole range beginning from the traditional Scotches, there will be a few from Japan as well, which will give the visitors something to cherish for a long time, and if the wallet permits, even buy some of it. The entry to the event will be allowed through different packages on offer which are as follows:<br />
<strong>·High roller package</strong><br />
Ticket Price: $1995 per person<br />
This package is targeted to virtually all categories of tasters which include the novices and even the expert connoisseur. It would entail the visitor to early admission to the event, all ‘super pour’ whiskies for tasting, participation in the Whiskey speed dating event, lite bites (hi-tea) event in the exhibit hall, post event gourmet dinner, Glencairn cut crystal tasting glass, free cigar sample, high-roller gift bag, and an automatic entry to prize draw amongst others. There is also the added benefit of participating in a group as 4+ members would get the tickets at $1,795.50 and 8+ groups would get the tickets at $1695.75. ($200 Off the High Roller Ticket &#8211; find below)<br />
<strong>· Connoisseur package</strong><br />
Ticket package: $525 per person<br />
As the name suggests, this one is meant for the classical whiskey experts who knows what and varieties to look for, and savor. This packaging would include an entry to pre-show events, a sample of whiskey from a variety of exhibitors, 2 ‘super pour’ whiskeys one of which will be the choice of the customer and the other, the SIRIUS Whisky purveyors NEW Super Premium expressions, lite bites at the exhibition hall, post show gourmet dinner, Flencairn cut crystal glass and also free cigar sample. Incentives are there in this packaging too with a 4+ group getting tickets at $472.50 a person, and a 8+ group getting them at $446.25 per person. <strong>· Companion Package</strong><br />
Ticket Price: $255 per person<br />
As the name suggests, these tickets are for those who accompany their partners to the event, and are not necessarily whisky enthusiasts. For a change, this package includes the tasting of wines and champagnes, apart from the Glencairn tasting flute, entry into pre-show events, a lite-bite event in the exhibit hall, and ultimately a gourmet dinner with industry celebrities. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t have incentives for tickets bought at higher volumes.<br />

Mencken said, &#8220;A cocktail today consists essentially of any hard liquor, any milder diluent and a dash of any pungent flavoring.&#8221; It is a slang term &#8211; reportedly in print by 1806 as &#8216;spirits of any kind, sugar, water, and bitters&#8217; &#8211; with a lost origin. There are many, many theories about the word&#8217;s etymology, but none has been agreed upon. It could be a combination of the words cock (perhaps as in &#8216;tap, faucet&#8217;) and tail, but at this point all agree that the word&#8217;s origin is really unknown. American initiative and imagination continue to show themselves in the making and naming of cocktails!</p>
